Brazil has one of the richest bird diversities in the world. The avifauna of Brazil include a total of 1822 confirmed species of which 238 are endemic. Brazil’s biodiversity and ease of access to wildlife make it a very popular destination for bird photographers from around the world. Join us in a quest to see some of the most vibrant fauna that the country has to offer from the Atlantic rainforests to the coasts of Rio De Janeiro.
Brazil hosts such extraordinarily different areas, from the vast Amazon Basin to the largest natural wetland area on Earth, the Pantanal, to the unique Atlantic Forests, which are home to some of the most threatened animals on the planet. On top of that you have a myriad other habitats including wet montane forest, salt lagoons, and coastal scrub, to name but a few, and our tours are designed to give you a good insight into the rich variety of Brazilian birding sites.
The Atlantic Forest region of Southeast Brazil is jam packed full of amazingly colorful and confiding endemic birds species. The Atlantic Forest stretches for 1,500 square miles along the coast of Brazil, teeming with a vast array of plants, birds, and other wildlife.
Our all-inclusive Atlantic Brazil bird photo tour makes it easier for you to enjoy this tour and fill up your camera memory cards with unparallel specialities and colorful species. We work closely with the local expert guides and our team with technical ability ensure you enhance your photography techniques as you capture these diverse species.

ITINERARY
Upon arrival you will meet our representative at the Guarulhos–Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport and transfer to your hotel near the capital city of Sao Paulo. The hotel is situated near the airport for easy access.

We meet at 7 am for an early breakfast and head to our first rainforest lodge which is well known for its regular avian visitors.
We spend 3 days at this lodge, which is touted as one of the most amazing birding locations in all of South America to start this exotic tour. Green headed tanagers, saffron toucanets, red-breasted toucans are some of the species lined up for the next few days.

Our targets today will include yellow-fronted woodpecker, maroon-bellied parrot, roadside hawk, white-tipped dove, pale breasted thrush, golden crowned warbler, blue dacnis, azure shouldered tanager

This morning we indulge in some Multi-flash photography to capture the stunning hummingbirds visiting the lodge feeders. The specialties include Brazilian ruby, Saw-billed hummingbird, scale-throated hummingbird, violet-crowned woodnymph and more.
Today we also look for more species like the magpie tanager, black-goggled tanager, ruby crowned tanager, half-collared sparrow, sharp-tailed streamer among the many different species planned today.

We will spend the morning at lodge feeders and by lunch we leave for our second location situated in the town of Eldorado. After setttling into our lodge, we visit a private feeder to photograph special species like the red necked tanager, blue winged parrotlet, long-tailed tyrant and several others.

This morning we visit the private feeder once again to spend the entire day at the productive feeders to make beautiful photographs with stunning perches and also indulge in some Hummingbird multiflash photography.
Plenty of species will be in our target list today. We will also walk in the trails to look for species like blue-dacnis, masked water tyrant, violet-capped woodnymph, eared dove, barred antshrike, plain parakeet, squirrel cuckoo etc.

After a short travel this morning we will arrive on the coastal side of Brazil in the city of Peruibe.
The top 2 targets today will the pin-tailed manakin and swallow-tailed manakin along with the very special Brazilian tanager and several other species.

We start the day at the private feeders which is excellent for jays, woodpeckers, bannanaquits and tanagers.
Our day is also spent looking for the very special burrowing owls. Apart from this, Blond crested woodpecker, azure jay, channel billed toucan, red rumped cacique, golden chevroned tanager, somber hummingbirds are our main targets today.
After our evening session we head back to Sao Paulo where we spend the night before flying out next morning.
We target close to 20 species on this day.

2.Tropical Photo Tours holds the rights to modify a reservation at any time during a workshop. As a company, we always try to comply with what we have promised but due to several unforeseeable circumstances such as weather, natural calamity, political, environmental, cultural we may have to make changes to our reservations.

• Failure to make payments within this timeline could result in tour cancellation.
• A deposit is your commitment to joining the workshop. These deposits don’t typically sit in an account, they are used to cover initial expenses for the workshop like hotel reservations, park permits/fees and guided tour deposits. Due to these expenses, deposits are non-refundable and tour payment made is subject to a cancellation fee.
- More than 60 days before the start of the tour: Refund of workshop payment (not including deposit), less $100 convenience fee.
- 60 – 45 days before the start of the tour: Refund of 50% of workshop payment (not including deposit), less $199 convenience fee.
- Less than 45 days before the start of the tour: No refunds will be given, and all payments will be forfeited. Full payment is required no later than 45 days prior to departure. If full payment is not received by this date you will be notified by email. If you do not respond within 3 business days, your spot will be forfeited and offered to participants on the waiting list.
Alternatively, we can also find a perfect roommate for you based on your gender, age, and interests. If a roommate is not available, the single supplement will be charged.
Please note that we calculate the cost of the single supplement by taking the actual cost of a single room and subtracting one-half the cost of a double room (plus any applicable taxes).

Other essentials: Good hiking boots, Laptop, memory card readers, bug spray, sunscreen, silica gel sachets to keep your camera dry. Since, it is likely that there might be rain and mosquitoes especially in dense rainforests, so you must pack your rain jacket and a bug jacket.
You can carry medicines that are for common illnesses like colds, cough, fever, diarrhea, altitude sickness, headaches, heartburn or severe acidity and sore throats to name a few. Those who take regular medication for hypertension, blood sugar, allergy, and asthma should carry an adequate supply of medicines.
We tend to travel to remote places, it is best you have your medicines handy. Though most of our trips require moderate stamina, it is best if you are high on energy and stay fit to get the most out of the experience.
