The Singalila National Park and adjacent forests in Nepal are home to endangered Red pandas. These elusive and rarely-seen mammals are very skillful and acrobatic animals that predominantly stay in trees. This sub-temperate himalayan broadleaf ecosystem is home to a wide array of elusive Himalayan wildlife such as Red Panda, Asiatic Black Bear, Clouded Leopard, Common Leopard, Leopard Cat, Himalayan Sherow, Himalayan Musk Deer, Melanistic Barking Deer, Himalayan Brown Goral, Yellow-throated Marten, Himalayan Palm Civet, Bhutan Giant Flying Squirrel and many more.
Singalila is also home to more than 150 bird species. Satyr Tragopan , Blood Pheasant, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Red Crossbill, Rosefinches, Bullfinches, Grosbeak, Parrotbills, Yuhinas, Laughingthrushes are among the most notable ones.
Our tour itinerary also involves photographing the elusive and vulnerable Fishing Cat in the outskirts of West Bengal. The inhabitant of wetlands and mangroves of South east Asia, these rare cats are priceless addition to the photography portfolio and an experience of a lifetime.

Tour Motive During our all-inclusive photography tour we shall focus on the photographing the elusive Red Panda in its natural habitat up in high elevations and visit the mangroves and wetlands sorrounding West Bengal to photograph the shy Fishing Cat. This well planned tour is a great opportunity to witness the diverse wildlife Indian sub-continents have to offer and is an experience of a lifetime.

Tour Pace


Easy to Moderate
Much of the Atlantic tour will be spent near feeders which are accessed by only a short walk. There will also be optional short walks on to get to the hide and access the farms with feeders and manakin leks.
North Pantanal photography sessions will mostly be done in safari vans and boats. Some sessions may involve walking around gardens and feeders. Register Now

ITINERARY

Day 1

Upon arrival you will meet our representative at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and transfer to your hotel near the city of Kolkata. The hotel is situated near the airport for easy access.

  • Overnight at hotel in Kolkata, meals are not included this day

Day 2

Early Breakfast and boarding for Kolkata- Bagdogra flight ( 45 mins). After reaching Bagdogra journey starts towards Singalila National Park ( Four hours drive). Transfer to camp. A short break for refreshment and lunch. Second half on field.

Day 3-7

Full days on field. Stay at our camp.

Day 8

Start early for Bagdogra- Kolkata flight. Journey starts for Fishing cat camp ( two hours drive from airport). Transfer to the resort and night safari.

Day 9-10

Two full day and night at fishing cat camp.

Day 11

Leave for Kolkata airport ( Two hours drive) . Return flight from Kolkata airport.

What camera lenses do you recommend? Expand ⦁ We suggest a telephoto lens and one 100-400/200-500/200-600 for flight shots of birds while waiting or to help you compose landscape/ habitat shots. If you’d like to try night photography we’d recomment a 24-70 lens, but please bear in mind that the nights are really cold at that elevation.

How is the weather going to be in India during tour dates? Expand
  • Its winter in India during tour dates and average temperature in capital city New Delhi ranges between 68 Farenheit (daytime) – 45 degreen Farenheit (nightime). The nights are chilly and since the tour path is northbound, the temperature will get colder with some snowfall as well.
