November 2020

Costa Rica Bird Photography Tour

Pura Vida! Meaning 'Pure Life' is a phrase used by the locals in Costa Rica but it's more than just a phrase - it is a way of life. The country is the size of West Virginia and holds close to 900 species of birds. Join us on an adventure across 3 different rainforest habitats & experience the magic of Costa Rica Bird Photography Tour with us to uncover some of the avian secrets this country holds.

ITINERARY

We start our trip from San Jose, Costa Rica. After resting for the night on the day of arrival, we spend few nights at our lodge nestled between the Lowland Rainforests capturing the beautiful Toucans, Tanagers, Curassows, the majestic King Vultures through a specialized hide, indulge in some Macro photography and gain a unique experience of Bat photography with multiple flashes in the middle of a dark rainforest in the night.
We also spend some nights in a beautiful lodge right between the Mid-elevation of the Sarapiqui Rainforest Area. We take a walk through a private farm to witness the elusive Honduran White bats, the unique Spectacled Owls, 3-Toed sloth and several species of Hummingbirds. We indulge in Multi-Flash photography session to catch the stunning Hummingbirds in action along with photographing the very special Red-Headed Barbet at a very special place. During these days, we also get a chance to get our hands on flight shots of the Scarlet Macaws and Great Green Macaws!
Our next location is high amongst the Talamanca Highlands, which is a unique place to see the most anticipated and marvelous Resplendent Quetzal. Our goal is to capture this stunning bird in all its glory in flight and action at a private farm. We will also indulge in Multi Flash photography session to capture several hummingbirds and their beautiful iridescence. The deck of our lodge hosts a wide variety of these stunning locals and we would get a chance to soak in the beauty of these cloud forests and their very special visitors.
After spending a couple of days in the cloudforests we end our photography sojourn and head back to San Jose to spend teh last night at our hotel and take the next day departures with several memories, unique experiences and memory card full of stunning photographs that will be cherished forever!
